Information on immigration regulations during the Covid-19 Pandemic

In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, DGI is updating the immigration clearance measures at borders for travelers who enter and leave Indonesia by applying health protocols to curb the spread of the virus.

  1. Travelers must wear their face masks upon the immigration clearance unless otherwise required.
  2. Travelers must provide a valid HEALTH ALERT CARD and present it to the border agents.
  3. Travelers must always practice a physical distancing (1.5 meters) in public for everyone\'s safety and security.
  4. Travelers must wash your hand regularly with soap and water or hand sanitizer.
  1. Foreign passport holders must prepare the legal and valid passport or travel documents (at least 6 months validity prior to the date of expiry).
  2. Foreign passport holders must hold a valid Indonesian visa. (See BORDER CLOSURES AND EXCEPTION )
  3. At Bali airport, foreign passport holders must scan your fingerprints and face photo for a biometric data collection.
  4. Free visa facility and Visa on Arrival are not available during the Covid-19 pandemic.
  5. You must prepare your KITAS/KITAP (for PR holder), or Affidavit Card (for any Children of Dual Citizenship subject).
  6. Crew members must hold a crew member certificate and fill out the arrival and departure crew card.
  7. At selected airports, Indonesian passport holders can use the Autogate (automatic border control) - Please ask our officers!
  8. Provided lines for an arrival immigration clearance:
    1. The line for Indonesian Passports, Permanent Residence (KITAS/KITAP) holders.
    2. The line for Diplomatic/ Service Passports, ABTC Holders.
    3. The line for Foreign Passport Holders with Visit Visa, Work Visa, Student Visa, another visa.
    4. The line for Persons with Disability (Wheelchair)
    5. The line for Airline Crew Members.

  • Provided lines for a departure immigration clearance: tinggal lajak (Overstay):
    1. If you overstay (you stay more than the length of stay decided), you must pay for penalty. It is fined Rp1.000.000/day/person. If you overstay for 5 days, you must pay the fine of Rp5.000.000/person (5 days x Rp1.000.000). If you overstay 60 days, you must pay the fine of as much as Rp1.000.000 x 60 days. Otherwise, you are sent to a detention room for further legal measures.
    2. But, if you overstay for more than 60 days, you are deported, and prohibited to enter Indonesian territory (Immigration Administrative Action) for at least 6 months.
    3. You will proceed to a further inspection at the interview room and pay off the overstay penalty (with a penalty receipt).
  • Foreign nationals who are not vaccinated and intend to leave the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, but need to travel domestically in order to reach the exit point for international flights are exempted from showing COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate provided that they do not leave the airport area during transit or waiting for their international flights, with the following requirements:
    1. Obtaining clearance issued by the local Port Health Office/Authority to travel domestically, with the purpose to continue their flights to leave Indonesia; and
    2. Showing valid flight itinerary leaving Indonesia for direct transit from the city of departure to the exit point for international destination.
